Hello friends,
It's been a little while! I hope you're having a lovely weekend wherever you are.
We've got quite a lot going on behind the scenes at MOOF HQ, so strap in - here's the lowdown:
MOOF Radio Show - Soho Radio
We're going live!!! The MOOF radio show will now be broadcast live from the Soho Radio studio once a month on a Saturday 12pm-1pm.
Our next show is Saturday April 19th at 12pm where we'll have Cornish psych-folk collective Blind Yeo (Lost Map Records) live in the studio for a stripped back session ahead of their headline MOTH Club show that same evening.
Catch up on our latest radio shows here, including a special broadcast from last month for International Women's Day: https://sohoradiolondon.com/profile/moof-magazine/
Events coming up:
Cornish psychedelic-folk collective Blind Yeo blur motorik beats, rave synths and jagged electric guitar. A cosmic hot pot of psychedelic improv and a danceable whirlwind of polyrhythmic joy.
Support from Birds Flying Backwards.
Doors 7.30pm

With live music from...
Alison Cotton:
Weaving eerily arcane tapestries of supernatural beauty from her multi-layered viola, incantatory vocals and harmonium, Alison Cotton has built a reputation as one of the UK's most extraordinarily evocative aural explorers of folk music and beyond.
MPTL Microplastics:
MOOF welcomes Anti-Fascist Anti-Folk super-group, MPTL Microplastics. Sure to tickle the fancies of fans from everything from Throbbing Gristle and The Fall to the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band.
Ike Gray (Tapir!)

OTHER NEWS...
Since January of this year I've been standing in for Stewart Lee on the music reviews section of The Idler. It's been a pleasure writing about some of my favourite releases old and new - from the cult psych records of Ramases, Joe Boyd-produced Albanian folk music, Estonian avant-garde jazz, private press acid folk and much much more musical meanderings and ramblings. More reviews to be found in the May / June issue, out soon!
